Questions from
moku_youbi , obviously.
What is your dream job?i want to one day own my own bookstore/coffee shop. that's the dream that's actually achievable, if i play my cards right, where as my other dream job (touring musician) is not. because i can't play any instruments or carry a tune.
What's your favourite scent?either the smell of a freshly opened soda, or that of acrylic paint.
What was your favourite cartoon growing up?Anastasia, probably, or Aladdin. i still watch both those movies at least once a month, if not more.
Do you play any instruments?
i don't, and that's probably my biggest regret thus far. i'm gunning for drum lessons, though, so hopefully this time next year, the answer will be yes.
What movie/book makes you think the most? (in a good way)
i am unrepentant in my dorkdom: Harry Potter, for sure. i'm a sucker for anything magical, and Rowling wrote the magic well and believably so. But not only that, the characterization basically undoes me. it's so amazingly complex, for each and every character, and none of them are perfect, which is a really interesting thing to see in fiction, especially children's. also, i love how the series started out for kids, and lured them in with the fantasy and the rags-to-riches aspect, and then, as the readers grew, so did the characters and the plot, and by the seventh book, she's dealing with seriously heavy themes, like blatant allegories for genocide and racism, but all in this universe we've all grown to love. i'm biased, because HP means a ridiculously immense amount to me, but i've no doubt considered in depth and ranted about harry potter more than anything else in my life.
